Running Injury Assessment & Treatment
A 45-minute deep dive (from $185). We take a full running history, screen biomechanics, palpate the painful bits, and leave you with a diagnosis and plan — not a flyer for 12 follow-ups.
Book assessment →Home Run Physio is Melbourne's only dedicated running physiotherapy clinic — trusted by more than a thousand runners from first-time parkrunners to ultra-distance athletes. Specialist assessment, treatment and return-to-run programming inside our Richmond studio.
Live availability below for all our running services. Pick your physio, pick your time, pay after the session. Prefer to talk first? Call 03 9100 3798 or WhatsApp us.
We don't moonlight in running — it's the entire practice. Every physiotherapist on the team is a runner: marathoners, trail nuts, track athletes, ultra finishers. We talk your language, train where you train, and read the same British Journal of Sports Medicine studies you've already half-read on Strava.
While general clinics spread thin across every sport, we've spent more than a decade refining one thing: how runners get injured, why they keep getting injured, and what actually works to fix it. Read our journal.
Our protocols draw on current load-management and tendinopathy research. We collaborate with sports medicine clinicians and stay aligned with Sports Medicine Australia and the International Association of Running Medicine.
We share our Richmond warehouse with Evolutio Sports Physio and Ciclo Melbourne. That means our runners get the depth of a sports medicine team and a bike-fit studio for cross-training and triathletes — under one roof.
Our 45-minute initial assessments aren't squeezed between 12 other patients. They include training history, biomechanical screen, gait analysis, and a written plan you'll actually use.
Whether you're chasing your first 5K or recovering from a DNF at UTMB, the work is the same: assess, diagnose, load-manage, return stronger. View detailed service breakdown →

If it hurts when you run, we've probably treated it — thousands of times. Here's what walks (limps) into the Richmond studio most weeks.
Heel pain that's worst in the first steps of the morning. Loading-based rehab, footwear advice, and clear progression timelines.
Insertional and mid-portion. Heavy-slow resistance protocols and a structured return to hill running.
Bone stress vs muscular — we differentiate properly. Early load management protects you from a stress fracture.
Grade-specific rehab for soleus and gastrocnemius, with a return-to-tempo protocol that doesn't blow up six weeks in.
Patellofemoral pain — the most common runner complaint. Hip and quad strength is usually the answer; cadence often is too.
Lateral knee pain that switches on at a specific kilometre. Strength, cadence, and a smarter long-run plan.
Sit bone pain on long runs and after sitting. Tendon-loading progression that respects the irritability cycle.
Suspected stress injury? We screen, refer for imaging when needed, and manage your gradual return to running.
Long runs lighting up the lower back? We address it as a runner-specific load problem, not a generic back-pain template.
No referral required — you can book online directly. If you have an EPC Care Plan from your GP, you can claim a Medicare rebate; we also accept all major private health funds with HICAPS for on-the-spot rebates, plus WorkSafe Victoria, TAC and DVA Gold and White cards.
Every initial appointment is 45 minutes. Pricing depends on which practitioner you book with: $185 with Shirouz or Kelsi, $235 with Senior Physiotherapists Bayden or Phill. Follow-ups are 30 minutes ($130 / $140). Same room, same equipment, same 45-minute initial — the difference is years of clinical experience. Full breakdown in the pricing section above.
Yes. We treat every distance — from a goal first parkrun to ultra-distance trail and road events. Our team includes runners who've raced everything from city marathons to mountain ultras, so the conversation starts at understanding, not at convincing us you're "not overtraining."
Yes. Ciclo Melbourne, our cycling and bike-fit studio, operates from the same Richmond space. You can book a physio-led bike fit (from $275, claimable on most health funds) and have your run and cycle plan coordinated by the same team.
11/3 Bromham Place, Richmond VIC 3121 — five minutes' walk from Richmond Station, with on-street parking. The studio is shared with Evolutio Sports Physio and Ciclo Melbourne. Look for the blue Evolutio sign at the entrance.
Yes — that's the entire point. Bayden, Phill and the rest of the team race, train, and follow the same recovery problems you do. It's why we built a clinic specifically for runners in the first place. Meet the team →
